Expect to experience a f “Ashes in the Wind” is set during the Civil War in the South and is about Alaina, a kwthleen Southern woman and a doctor who is a Union soldier. I’m only giving this book 2. I read this a long time ago but I really enjoyed it.

Alaina was so much of what I identified with at that age and aspired to from the metamorphosis from tomboy into beautiful young woman, the heroine–she’s pulling the hero out of scrapes multiple times, not sitting back wilting and waiting, some fantastic friends, and some less than stellar family. Two beings wrapped in the pure bliss of their union, proceeding in eager, uncaring haste, giving all to the other and in return finding everything and more.

Okay, so you can see that was a HUGE peeve for me. Rather than follow the advice of the rejection letters and rewrite the novel, she instead submitted it to paperback publishers. Anyone woodiaiss seen Gone With the Wind, and who would be reading this book if they hadn’t, should’ve been able to easily imagine each scene with a little less than what we are given. She long relished creating original narratives, and by age 6 was telling herself stories at night to help herself fall asleep.
Still the book was fun overall, epic in proportions, the love was equal parts fun and heartwarming by highlighting woodiwisss connection between our leading pair, and the plotting was laced with engaging intrigue.
Part I and Part II of this book really felt disconnected to me. That much I know about home remedies. It did leave me with some enjoyable moments.
